Healthy Eating

June 15th, 2007 by webmaster

Heya! Super busy here today. This will be a short one unfortunately. It’s good to keep in mind that you need to vary your diet! don’t always have the same old food – it gets boring… you should still keep it healthy.. at least.. reasonably healthy… but try to vary it.. like have fish, chicken, beef, pork, quail, duck, venison, crustaceans… there’s a huge variety of meat out there.. then try other veges and fruits! mix them up a bit, maybe try a semi-healthy gravy over the top if you get bored!

Proactol update:
Proactol’s good so far – nothing negative to report lol.. but like everything that’s repetitive and potentially (hopefully) habitual, I’m sometimes forgetting to take the pill before a meal lol. But I’m keeping my exercise up to 4 times a week. I don’t feel like I have the energy to do much more at the moment lol. Click here for easy assistance on losing weight!

Exercise Variations and some cheaper alternatives part 3

June 11th, 2007 by webmaster

If you like to drink alcohol on the odd occasion or if you just happen to have some bottles hanging around, use those for weights instead of buying weights.. doing bicep curls etc. They’re usually only a few kgs maximum… or if you have a carton/slab hanging around, use that – preferrably not with the same techniques. Same thing goes for water bottles. You don’t have to drink to have a useful weight hanging around! Fill up some waterbottles and use those! If you’re not getting much resistance, try tying some together or use 2L bottles or start up a coin collection! I have one that’s 11kg … I’m not kidding – it’s a pain to pick up lol. AND I know I have money in there lol… unfortunately repetitiously picking it up won’t increase the wealth lol… but at least you’re getting exercise :D

If you have a baby or toddler, why not use them? There are many muscle-building activities you can do with your kids! Even just carrying them around and rolling on the ground flipping them over your knee (I can’t really explain that one any better without a demonstration, unfortunately but I know it works muscles lol) …… safest to try on a big bed or mattress lol.

Exercise gaming and cheaper alternative exercises part 2

June 10th, 2007 by webmaster

If you have a Wii, you can play some of the games – but make sure you’re standing up for all of them! The Wii controllers aren’t heavy, but they can give an exercise! Alternatively, try holding your arms up for 2 minutes, then try 5, then 10, then add hand weights (even your phone… if it’s cordless/a mobile/cell).

Also.. lie on the ground on your side and lift the leg that’s on top upwards to about 45 degrees. Keep the legs straight! Hold that to the count of 40, then increase your numbers… it should work your butt, thighs and calf muscles… when you’ve finished counting, bend the leg and bring it back down to your body, or just lower it back down to the other foot. You should try to aim for 10 repetitions of this.. in no time your ass will be….. sore lol.. no pain no gain ;) . Awesome and free way to get your butt muscles up.

Tricep work – that one’s easy.. you can use the couch (lol I can’t stop thinking about that area of the house lol), coffee table (depending on your height) or the kitchen bench… if you’re taller – otherwise that won’t really work. Gravity is the force you’re aiming to have against you. Speaking of the kitchen bench, if you just enough flexibility, face it fully or side-on, put one of your feet on it (be sure to wipe it down properly when finished ;) ) and extend that leg – making sure it’s straight – and either move the bottom foot that’s on the ground backwards away from the sink for a muscle-controlled stretch, or just bend that leg without moving it away. Make sure before you do anything after putting your foot on the bench (or desk), a maximum of your ankle and foot are on the upper surface. That way you’ll get full benefits – and probably won’t hurt yourself as much lol.

I’m sure there are many more ideas you can do for exercise that doesn’t cost anything – you just have to look at something you usually use and think of another use, really. If you have a baby, tie him/her to the front of you with a baby carrier while you’re doing yoga etc – this will help work your tummy muscles etc.
